BALEARICS – The Balearic Islands make traveling to the islands easier. From September 14, Spanish tourists who want to travel to the islands no longer have to fill out an (FCS) health form if they have a Covid certificate.
Filling in the extra health form will be a thing of the past for Spanish residents from next Tuesday. Therefore, only showing a Covid certificate, known as the corona passport, is sufficient when Spaniards go to the islands. The spokesman for the Balearic Islands Regional Council, Iago Negueruela, made this announcement today.
Covid certificate only form for travel to Balearic Islands
The age for inspection will also be adjusted upwards and will be the same as the rules for international tourists from Tuesday. From then, everyone aged 12 and older must submit a Covid certificate, also known as a corona passport. It can be shown with a QR code that the person in question has been fully vaccinated, has recently tested negative, or has recovered from Covid-19 in the recent period.
Ibiza restrictions for non-cohabitants lifted
However, this is not the only measure taken by the Balearic Regional Council. Also, gatherings between non-cohabitants between 2 am and 6 am in Ibiza will be allowed from September 15. Ibiza was the island with the highest corona incidence so far. However, it fell below 350 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on Sept. 10, which the regional government says is enough to no longer enforce restrictions on nighttime gatherings.
At the time of writing, the incidence of the past 14 days on all Balearic Islands combined is 146.1 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Relaxation of the Spanish islands initially temporarily
Based on the epidemiological data of September 10, the regional government has decided to relax these measures. The relaxations will apply until September 29. On this day, the situation will be reviewed and a decision will be made on whether to ease restrictions on social, cultural, and leisure activities as well.
