BARCELONA – A resident of Barcelona made a heartbreaking discovery on Tuesday morning. On one of the coldest mornings of the year, he found a baby left in a sports bag in the Sants Badal district of Barcelona.
He reported his bizarre find just before 7.00 am to the Catalan police Mossos d’Esquadra, who immediately sent officers to the scene of the discovery on Calle Begur. It appears the baby he found in the Barcelona street is just one or two months old.
The police immediately informed the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM). Caregivers have taken the baby for observation to the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in the Catalan capital. Despite the low temperatures, the baby is in good health
The Catalan police have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this sad case. They are in a hurry to discover who left the minor in these conditions, in the early morning when even light snow has fallen in some parts of Barcelona.
