Turismo Islas Canarias has published the forecast of air seats for the winter 2022/23. The balance is positive when compared to that of 2019/20 (the last pre-pandemic season). However, the loss of air capacity from the Nordic countries is striking.
At the regional level, they will register a drop of 21.8% in places from Sweden, 15.4% in those from Finland and 4.9% in those from Norway. This is according to data from the tourist promotion entity of the archipelago. Only Lanzarote maintains the rate with 9.2% more seats from the Swedish market, while the Norwegian market neither grows nor decreases.
Fuerteventura loses all capacity from Nordic countries
Although the places fall in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, the most outstanding case is that of Fuerteventura, for which no place is planned from the Nordic countries. The island started with 0 seats in Norway (something that remains), but it also loses all seats from Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
